New York Mets - Amazing Men of Professional Baseball
Based in the borough of Queens in the New York City, the New York Mets are the professional baseball team since 1962. 'The Amazins'is the popular nickname of the team among its admirers. As one of the members of the National League's East Division, the Mets have managed to win two World Series titles so far. A Little Background
With the relocation of the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants from New York, the spot was created for a new baseball franchise. At the same time, the Continental League appeared in talks as the third major league to join the National League and the American League. One of the five teams for the new league was decided to be located in New York. However, the National league decided to expand by including two new teams and offered one of the franchises to the proposed New York team of the Continental League. The new league was never formed, but the National league succeeded to form the new baseball team as the New York Mets.
World Series Titles
The Mets have managed to win two World Series titles so far. The first World Series title was won by the team in 1969 by defeating the Baltimore Orioles. In 1986, the Mets won their second and last World Series title against the Boston Red Sox. In addition, the Mets have won four National League pennants and five East Division titles.
Hall of Fame
Tom Seaver, Richie Ashburn, Yogi Berra, Nolan Ryan, Eddie Murray, Warren Spahn, Duke Snider, Casey Stengel, Willie Mays and Gary Carter have been the top performers for the team.

Blue, orange, white and black are the colors of the team. Mr. Met, a man with baseball shaped head, is the mascot of the team.
Some of the popular nicknames of the team are 'the Amazin' Mets' and 'the Metropolitans'. Citi Field is the current ballpark for the Mets, though they had earlier played at the Polo Grounds and at the Shea Stadium. The logo of the team represents 'N' and 'Y'

New York Mets is my favourite team in baseball, And i never missed their matches, i like their team spirit, the team has become more energitic and strong in the recent past. It is attaracting people with good game. I like their dedication towards the game, they always try to do very less number of mistakes,They won't get discouraged even when they are injured. |

I am crazy about New York Mets team, they are just amazing , the team has been doing great job for the past few years. The team has been attracting people with their matches. Once i went to watch a match, the crowd didn't stop shouting, they were taking the names of the players of New York Mets and encouraging them with their posters. The match was very intresting till the last second. |

My father is former baseball player. I went to see a baseball match of New York Mets. We enjoyed that match very much. And my father told me that the game was taking its place in the baseball history. ie the players really played well. 1986, I observed the real teamwork and their willingness in the game. The year when Mets got their World series against Boston Red Sox. It was an amazing moment for team and for the fans of Mets. When i saw that match in the ground. That was really a wonderful experience.
