The Chicago Cubs exists as a professional baseball club since 1870. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the team represents the Central Division of the National League in MLB. A Little Background
The Chicago White Stockings joined the National Association in 1870 and won the last season of the association. In 1890, the club adopted the new name of the Chicago Colts. The name was changed to the Chicago Orphans in 1898, when its top player Adrian Anson left the team. The present day name of the Chicago Cubs was adopted by the team in the year 1902. Soon, the Cubs became the first major baseball league team to participate in three consecutive World Series.

The Chicago Cubs have two World Series titles, won in two consecutive seasons of 1907 and 1908. In 1907, the Cubs grabbed the title after defeating the Detroit Tigers. Only a year later, the Cubs again defeated the Tigers to win the World Series title of 1908. Unfortunately, no other World Series championship has been won by the Cubs till date. Though, the team has some impressive wins in the form of 16 National League pennants, 3 Central Division titles and 2 East Division titles.

Before that, the team used various ballparks, including West Side Park, South Side Park, Lakefront Park, Unions Base-ball Grounds and so on. Some of the popular nicknames of the team are 'the Cubbies', 'the North Siders', 'the Boys in Blue' and 'the Loveable Losers'. A young bear cub is the mascot of the team.
